Good morning, Bellingham. This is your Friday update from The Hamster Wheel.
It looked like garage sales were petering out for the year, but this weekend proved me wrong. Back for a special late-fall appearance in this edition!
Have fun, and stay safe out there!

Ceramic Art for a Rainy Weekend
With rain and bluster in the weekend forecast, itโs the perfect time to slow down and enjoy the finer things indoors at the Whatcom Artists of Clay and Kiln (WACK) 2025 Studio Tour. This self-guided event invites you to explore nine cozy studios across Whatcom County, showcasing the work of 35 talented clay artists.

The tour is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, offering an opportunity to meet local creatives while browsing beautiful handmade pottery, sculpture, and functional art. You can find a list of participating artists, alongside an interactive map on the WACK website.
There are so many beautiful works on WACKโs Instagram page. I ended up picking a few that stood out to me. ๐ ๐๏ธ Be sure to peruse their social media, or better yet head out on the tour trail.

Crash an Open House

7493 Miller Way, Deming (Open Sun 2-4 pm)
I almost flicked past this one because itโs a bit camouflaged. Once I gave it a few moments of attention I realized the soft colors and features that help it blend into the loamy forest floor also enhance itโs cozy PNW vibe. In the very best way, it reminds me of conk mushroom. ๐๏ธ ๐ฅฐ Listing.

1335 Humboldt Street (Open Fri 4-6, Sat 11-1, Sun 10-12)
I adore this street. My best friend lived across and a few houses down from this one, and I have so many fond memories of walking to Nelsons Market for ice cream on warm summer evenings. This house has a lot of potential. ๐ Listing.
